Hmmm, looks like the cannula is being fitted tomorrow - just read the instructions, goes in the vein in upper arm and shoved in a two foot so it ends somewhere near the lungs and can stay in place for a year! Wish they had done this to start with, she has had so many cannulas fixed to her the hand & arms the surface veins are wrecked now, she looks like a junkie.

Anyway, off the liquid diet tomorrow and back to more normal food and I think they are hoping to get her out by the weekend. The are arranging for the district nurse to come daily so that will be great - whether this can be done for this weekend I dunno.

So, things are still up in the air - I might be OK for the weekend or I might not.

Had a call from madam - cannula being fitted today or tomorrow (when X-Ray dept can fit her in)
No district nurses available over the weekend so they are going to discharge her on Monday.

In my heart I was saying woooooo, I can play at the weekend - although I was actually saying "oh dear, another few days in hospital". Heh, selfish I know but meh!

So, there you are, unless anything else happens I'm OK for the weekend. :happydance:

God, this is terrible Dave, she's been in hospital for ages now!

Anyway, glad you can make it. I was getting worried about a German side commanded by Kermit and Guy...... ;)

Ah, thank you for asking, she is much improved. Been home since 25th Jan - district nurse everyday bunging antibiotic through drip. Doing a bit more everyday - operation is fine, just contending with the infection problems. Consultant visit at hospital tomorrow, hopefully then off drip and allowed to work in a few weeks.
